Fall Wedding at the Palace at Somerset Park

Our planning team absolutely loved working with Colleen and Chris at their October wedding at the Palace at Somerset Park in New Jersey! This fun wedding venue has been featured on several nationally televised programs and has several options for indoor and outdoor celebrations. Chris and Colleen had fun touches throughout the day that made their wedding one of a kind!

A Unique First Date Turned Tradition

Colleen and Chris are huge fans of the Philadelphia Eagles football team. Their first date was actually at a game! They try to make it to every home game. Chris and Colleen booked our Event Management package which is month-of-coordination. Four to six weeks before the wedding date, we handle communication with vendors and create a couples’ wedding timeline, as well as being on site the entire time during the wedding day. The most important element of Chris and Colleen’s day was wanting to capture the candid moments and being able to truly enjoy their special time with family and friends. They have a one and a half year old Aussie doodle puppy Zeus who was included in portraits in both getting ready locations.

Colleen and Chris had a different kind of first look. They did a “first shot” together while Chris was blindfolded so he couldn’t see Colleen in her dress. The couple got married at St. Matthias Catholic Church for the ceremony. Before they headed to the Palace at Somerset Park for the reception, the entire bridal party made a pit stop for a drink. One of Colleen and Chris’ favorite date night spots is Stage House Tavern. This location is situated in an old house and has a nice indoor and outdoor seating area for an intimate evening out. After everyone had a quick drink, they got a group photo outside! The reception was held inside with a cocktail hour to start and a full plated dinner.

A Folk Dance Reception Entrance

To officially announce Colleen and Chris’ entrance to the party, they were lead in by a group of folk dancers. Dabke, a Levantine folk dance, combines circle dance, line dancing, and is popular at weddings and other celebrations. For Colleen and Chris’ first official dance, they chose the song “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs, while surrounded by lots of fog and stage lights. They laughed together while listening to their family and friends’ speeches and toasts. The couple had a beautiful four-tiered white cake with their initials as the topper. To end of the night, they walked between two rows of their wedding guests holding sparklers! Congratulations to Colleen and Chris on tying the knot at their wedding at the Palace at Somerset Park in New Jersey!

Of course, we love when our clients leave us amazing review: “PPC went totally above and beyond with everything! We booked them for our 10.06.23 wedding! Amanda was absolutely wonderful and helped make sure she got every detail that we wanted for the day of! When the wedding day came I was completely stress free thanks to Shannon and Michelle. They both went above and beyond from making sure I had medicine. I of course had a nasty cough the day of. They made sure my hair was always fixed (they had Bobby pins on hand), to making sure we always had drinks in our hands and most importantly making sure everything ran smooth! They both made sure everything was perfect and were right by my side for anything I needed at all.”
